We're ready to move forward. Are you?

This week’s Share the Wisdom focus is about how poker can help you understand yourself and your opponents when it comes to
critical thinking and decision-making with Chuck Clayton, author of Poker Math. Even if you don't play poker, you are going to want to hear how to deal with those that do play to bluff, take a stand, etc. It will be fun and instructional I'm sure because I've heard him before.
Join us on our regular day, Thursday, Oct. 15 at noon CDT to also talk about...
  • Ready Room: Share a book, class, software that works for you and ask for help — and get it! What's happening around the country and the world.
  • Mentor Zone
    • Business Leverage with our mentors
    • Customer buy-in with Jan Triplett to improve your sales and their customer experience talking about guarantees even for service companies.
  • Resource-full — ideas, warnings and opportunities for reinventing your business
  • More from you: your ideas, questions, and comments throughout the Forum on how our topics and takeaways would work in your business situation
Here’s the link to BSC's Rebuilding Business Nationwide Forum RSVP and more information. It’s every Thursday — same time; same day; same link. Please share. https://bit.ly/BSCRebuildBizForum

What we learned from each other and about each other last week in just 60 minutes:
  • We learned how to make your office space a prosperity generator with tips from Belinda Mendoza, Design for Energy. She shared some great Feng Shui tips that you can DIY (do it yourself). She wanted us to remember that this is the Year of the Rat in Chinese culture, the most creative of the 12 signs. She added that what you have done so far has had to be creative as our world changed and this will give you a good start for 12 years to come.
  • Got some great "gives" from attendees and some important asks. Page Heller, Hopes Creek Consulting, is looking for a lab to make some skincare products for his daughter's company. Belinda Mendoza is looking for people moving into a new home who need to find peace again and home businesses who want to make their space more profitable.  Listen yourself to hear the "gives" we got.
  • Shane Anciso, Secret Simple Computer Repair, discussed the importance of powering down to keep your tech safe and sound. When talking about advice to a question on video doorbells, it became clear that IOT (Internet of Things) has issues. Page Heller pointed out that Google's RING has been hacked and "bad guys" use it to learn your movements and plan accordingly.
  • Joe Sprangel's post on getting rid of the pay gap in manufacturing is an important read. You may be doing business with manufacturers that aren't dealing with this topic and could be bad for your business.
  • Jan Triplett, BSC, on  the importance of good customer experience with your company, not just with your products and services.
  • The Last Word — resource recommendations and ideas from Jan Triplett, BSC (Austin and the world). Coming up Oct. 17: ProductCamp Austin for product managers and product marketers.  You might want to propose a topic.

We are finding great “business buddies” willing to talk openly and frankly about their business and share their expertise at the Reinventing Business Forum. It is so great to get to know and understand each other more than just to talk superficially like in a traditional in person or online meeting. The added benefit is that we get information from others in many industries and from all over the country and overseas.

If this is what you are looking for, please join us. We really want to learn from you and share with you! Interested in being our "Share the Wisdom" guest expert on a Thursday Forum? Contact me about your idea: triplett@ownersview.com.   Go here to see what our upcoming topics are and who are our speakers.

What I know is that when we come together, we may not be able to be at our "best" right now but we can find "better" and "acceptable" ways to do business that are realistic and practical and benefit ourselves, others, and the planet, the triple bottom line!
